Redefining Success

Most of us have been taught that success looks a certain way: a strong job title, financial security, and visible achievements. It’s something you can point to, measure, and often compare.

But that idea of success doesn’t always hold up. The pressure to keep achieving has only intensified, not least because we’re constantly exposed to what others are doing. And yet, external success doesn’t always translate into feeling fulfilled or content. That’s why more people are starting to rethink what success actually means.

Redefining success begins with a shift from how it looks to how it feels. Instead of asking what we should aim for, it becomes about what genuinely matters. For some, that’s purposeful work. For others, it’s time with family, protecting wellbeing, or simply feeling more balanced day to day.

There isn’t one version of success anymore and that’s a good thing. Often, it takes a pause such as a burnout, change, or a life event to prompt that reflection. What once felt important can lose its pull.

Ultimately, success isn’t fixed. It evolves as we do. And when you define it on your own terms, it becomes less about proving something and more about building a life that actually works for you.

So how do you define success? Is it based on what others see, or how your life actually feels?
